| 1. Make
part for required coiffure, and from this part, section side hair
into three strands, back of ear, over ear, and at hairline. |
2. Each
of these three sections should be damp with a combination of water
and setting lotion. |
| |
|
 |
 |
| 4.
Use curl stick* for winding and start with section back of ear.
Place ends underneath stick and wind from the ends of the hair
towards scalp, forming clockwise pin curl.
* I'd
never heard of a curl stick prior to reading this, but from
the pictures it almost looks like a plexiglas rod or something
similar. |
5. Slide
pin curl off curl stick at scalp. We are using a curl stick, since
for a successful wave, each curl must be accurate and uniform
in circumference. Curls at hairline should be tighter to give
body. |
| |
|
 |
 |
| 6. Be very
certain that curl is firmly anchored with two hairpins. Place
one in front of curl and one in back, so that pins will interlock
and hold curl firmly in place. |
7. When
this row is completed, proceed to middle section over ear. Winding
on curl stick is the same, except that hair is wound underneath
to form counterclockwise curls. |
| |
|
|
|
| 8. Here
the three rows are completed. Row at hairline is wound in smaller
clockwise curls to insure deep firm wave. These curls at face
are also set as close to scalp as possible. |
9. Use same
method and blocking on other side. Top section is also divided
into three, and curls are made working from back to front. Back
row is wound clockwise, middle row, counterclockwise, and front
row at hairline, clockwise in smaller tighter curls. |
