After shampoo, towl hair almost dry and rub in a small amount of cream-set or pomade.

Make a short part and comb hair into place with a few simple waves around temples.

As shown in Sketches 1 and 2, set two rolls of curls - top row fat and bottom row not quite so fat.

Tie net on hair, just back of front wave. Moisten front wave with wave set (Vito uses beer) and lift sharply to make hair spring from forehead (Sketch 3).

When dry, brush hair up over head (this takes the place of ruffing and gives hair a lush, live look). Then comb down into plump, page-boy roll.
